So American

I have been living in Israel for a month already. Its pretty pathetic, but my method of calculation is through my birth-control pills. And, TADA, it has been a month.
My experience here started off pretty traumatic, but has been slowing easing into comfortable. Nonetheless the awkward, embarrassing, funny, charming and "israeli" moments I have need to be shared with someone other than my mother. So, I have created this blog. I am a student at an international school, taught in english, and many of the students view Americans as the characters they have seen in movies. Which is funny, yet slightly annoying. If I do anything remotely like a character they have seen in a movie I am suddenly, "So American." Even my hebrew sounds, "So American". Well, what can i say. Maybe I am So American. It is a painful thing to admit, but after a month living in a foreign country there are certain aspects about American I can honestly say I miss, and humbly appreciate. It is ironic though. Because, if they really knew the principles of American society they would know how so un-American it is to go to College outside of the US. Let me clarify how American I am, just so you know which "hood" i be representin'. I am from New York City, Brooklyn to be specific.
There is actually a party in the building next door, and they are blasting Biggie Smalls and standing on the balcony screaming about rolling a joint. Life is really the same everywhere. Guys talking about weed, and girls overdressed at a house party.
